Richmond, VA. Lung Cancer Survivors Ralph Burton and Luther Jordan, along with their spouses Diane and Gwen, will represent Team Draft at the Washington Redskins training camp today.
Ralph is a 73 year old life-long Redskins fan. He is currently being treated at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Massey Cancer Center, along with Luther Jordan. Prior to going to VCU Cancer Center, he was told surgery would likely not help, but he ended up having a successful surgery and is currently enrolled in a clinical trial and doing well. Luther was treated at VCU Cancer Center in 2009 by the Radiation Oncology team.
At VCU Massey Cancer Center, patients are treated by multidisciplinary teams, which consist of a variety of cancer specialists across multiple disciplines. Each team collaborates on every case, ensuring the best possible treatment plan for each individual patient. The patient is evaluated by a group of oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, nurse practitioners, therapists and others, all of whom meet on a regular basis. Winner of the prestigious Circle of Life award, Massey is a recognized leader in palliative care and one of eight Palliative Care Leadership Centers nationwide.
Team Draft is dedicated to providing a unique experience to survivors, caregivers and their treatment teams nationwide. We thank the Washington Redskins and VCU Massey Cancer Center for their support.
