A Survivor at Every Rink: Phoenix Coyotes

Glendale, AZ.  Former firefighter and lung cancer survivor Tony Moore and his wife will be joined by Cancer Treatment Centers of America thoracic surgeon, Dr. Andrew Goldstein in representing Team Draft at the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, AZ. The group will witness the Phoenix Coyotes take on the Los Angeles Kings as a part of Team Draft’s “A Survivor at Every Rink” initiative that is fueled through a relationship with NHL during their annual Hockey Fights Cancer month.

Team Draft’s goals are to create a unique experience for participating survivors and to raise awareness on a local, national, and international level by using each game and each survivor’s story to weave a broader narrative about the state of lung cancer and the hope that now exists for those battling the disease.

Special thanks to the NHL, Phoenix Coyotes, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, and Kim Dodds for joining forces with Team Draft to make this experience possible.

About Hockey Fights Cancer:

Hockey Fights Cancer™ is an initiative founded in December 1998 by the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players’ Association to raise money and awareness for hockey’s most important fight. To date, through the NHL’s US and Canadian charitable foundations, more than $12.8 million has been raised under the Hockey Fights Cancer initiative to support national and local cancer research institutions, children’s hospitals, player charities and local cancer organizations. The Hockey Fights Cancer program is also a component of the NHL’s “Biggest Assist Happens Off the Ice” campaign – the League’s long-standing tradition of addressing important social issues in North America and around the world.

The Hockey Fights Cancer program is supported by NHL Member Clubs, NHL Alumni, the NHL Officials’ Association, Professional Hockey Trainers and Equipment Managers, corporate marketing partners, broadcast partners and fans throughout North America.
