A Survivor at Every Rink: New York Islanders

Uniondale, Long Island, New York. Lung cancer survivor Susan Cortese and cancer survivors Lenny O’Donnell and Angela Manzi will represent Team Draft at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY. The survivors will witness a game between the New York Islanders and the Vancouver Canucks, along with being recognized during the 2nd period of the game.

The game will be a continuance of Team Draft’s “A Survivor at Every Rink” initiative, fueled by a relationship with NHL during their annual Hockey Fights Cancer month.

Team Draft’s goals are to create a unique experience for participating survivors and to raise awareness on a local and national level by using each game and each survivor’s story to weave a broader narrative about the state of lung cancer and the hope that now exists for those battling the disease.
